Our dear friend Kat Kurys, devoted wife of Frank Kurys, a retired detective who proudly dedicated 20 years of service protecting his community, is now facing the fight of her life.

What began as an unexpected illness quickly became a medical crisis. Kat was rushed to a hospital in Philadelphia, where doctors delivered devastating news: her lungs had suffered catastrophic damage, and she is now waiting for a double lung transplant—her only chance at survival.

As Kat fights each day with incredible courage, Frank has never left her side. After spending two decades serving others, he is now focused entirely on caring for the love of his life while trying to remain strong for their family.

Together, Frank and Kat are raising two beautiful daughters, who are watching their mother endure an unimaginable battle. No child should have to wonder when they’ll be able to hug their mom again without tubes, machines, or hospital walls standing between them.

The emotional toll has been overwhelming, but the financial burden is growing just as quickly. Extended hospital stays, transplant-related expenses, medications, rehabilitation, travel, temporary housing near the transplant center, and the loss of income while Frank remains by Kat’s side have created enormous challenges for their family.
