Update:
Nikki passed peacefully from GBM brain cancer on January 14, 2026, at home, surrounded by family and friends. This fundraiser continues in support of her family, especially her boys, as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
Nikki is a devoted wife to Chess, a loving mom, and a deeply cherished friend to so many. Above everything else, she is the heart of her family, especially to her two boys, Eli and Beau. Eli is in seventh grade and Beau is in fourth grade, and they are truly the center of Nikki and Chess’s world.
Over the past year, Nikki has been bravely fighting brain cancer. Through every step of this, she has shown incredible strength, grace, and hope. Even as her health has declined, Nikki has stayed focused on what mattered most to her, loving her family, staying connected to the people around her, and finding moments of light wherever she could.
Nikki is also a daughter, a sibling, an aunt, and a friend whose kindness and warmth have touched so many lives. Many people know her through her work at the University of Kansas School of Business, where she has been a Senior Career Advisor in Business Career Services since 2021. To those who worked with her, Nikki was not just a colleague but someone who brought love and energy into the office and truly cared about both the students she supported and the people she worked alongside.
This fundraiser has been created to support Nikki's family during this heartbreaking time. All donations will go directly to her husband, Chess, and the ongoing needs of Eli and Beau.
If Nikki has ever helped you, encouraged you, or simply made your day a little brighter, this is a way to give back to the family she loves so much.
