Support for Nikki and Kenji

My name is Stephanie and I am Darren's sister, Nikki's Sister in law and Kenji's Aunt. It is with profound sadness that I share the news that we lost a beloved son, father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, colleague, musician, phenomenal teacher, extraordinary gardener and all around amazing human being on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 when he was taken from us by the ocean he loved so much. To alleviate stressors related to the unexpected and shocking loss, we are asking for contributions to assist with memorial costs, any sudden unexpected expenses and to help Nikki and Kenji have the time and space to grieve without the burden of worrying about paying bills. Any remaining funds will be used to support Kenji's college savings account.

To know Darren was a blessing to everyone who knew him, he was full of humor, kindness, compassion, adventure, and love. His loss leaves a huge void in our hearts and we appreciate your support during this incredibly painful time.

Information about a celebration of life will be shared at a later date. The outpouring of love and kindness is helping in our immense grief.
