Our family was hit hard this week when Nicole was diagnosed with colon cancer following a lengthy hospitalization to treat an abdominal abscess. Due to these problems, she hasn't been able to work, and Nicole has worked since she was 15 years old. She is in the process of applying for temporary disability, but there is no way of knowing how long that will take.

The funds raised will help Nicole with the basics—food, rent, utilities, and gas to get back and forth to chemo. She has always been independent and never asked for help before, but this time she truly needs it. Our family is doing everything we can, but the costs are overwhelming and we can't do it alone.
