Nicolate "George" Lica has been a dedicated doorman for our building at 255 W 88th Street, always greeting residents of our building with a warm smile and helping to keep our wonderful community safe. Recently, Nicolate, while on duty in our lobby, was the victim of a violent assault that left him hospitalized. The injuries he sustained are serious, and his recovery will be long and difficult. Even after he is released from the hospital, Nicolate will likely need extra support to move around, making everyday tasks much more challenging than before. As Nicolate faces this new reality, he will need help with things many of us take for granted—getting groceries, preparing meals, and keeping up with daily chores. He may also need to pay for home care, domestic help, and transportation to medical appointments. There are additional costs for medical equipment, medications, and possible adjustments to his living space to make it safer and more accessible. Some of these expenses may not be fully covered by insurance or his employment benefits, and the financial burden can quickly become overwhelming. We are coming together as a community to support Nicolate during this difficult time. Your donation will help ease the financial stress of his recovery and show him how much he means to all of us. Please consider contributing and sharing this fundraiser with others in our building and beyond. Thank you for your kindness and support.
