About a month ago, Ron, my stepfather, suffered a fall that marked the beginning of a very difficult journey for our family. His health took a turn for the worse—he developed pneumonia and two aneurysms in his hips. Despite the doctors’ efforts and our hopes for his recovery, his condition declined rapidly, and he passed away unexpectedly. The loss has left my mom, Nickolet, and all of us heartbroken and struggling to adjust to this new reality.

My mom means the world to me. She has always been a source of strength and love, but she isn’t in the best health herself. This sudden loss has added a tremendous amount of stress and worry to her life. I’m doing everything I can to support her, but the costs of funeral arrangements and the everyday expenses that keep coming are overwhelming. It’s hard to see her face so much uncertainty on top of her grief.
