On Saturday night, I received a devastating call that no mother ever wants to receive, informing me of the passing of my beloved son. This unimaginable loss is a mother's worst fear, a moment no parent can ever truly prepare for. Nickolas was just 22 years young, with a birthday on January 12 that would have marked his 23rd year. Nickolas was a bright smart young man with so much going for him with a bright future ahead. He loved his family and friends and most definitely loved his little bubba. He was my grandfather’s caretaker an all an all just a wonderful soul to be around. With his departure, a part of me has been forever lost, leaving an unfillable void.

This heartbreaking event was entirely unexpected, catching me off guard as a mother. Normally, I'm the one lending a helping hand, not seeking assistance.
