Our dad Nick Shoop is not just a family man who loves his wife, kids, and grandkids—he is the rock of our family and a source of strength for everyone he meets. Throughout his life, Nick has been a vessel of faith, hope, and love, always ready to serve others. As a college and career pastor in his younger years, he poured into people daily, guiding them, praying with them, and sharing hope wherever he went. Even a quick trip to the grocery store often turned into a meaningful conversation, leaving strangers feeling seen, encouraged, and loved.
On November 14th, our world was turned upside down when our dad suffered a severe heart attack. He is currently in the ICU, fighting to recover as he waits to be placed on the heart transplant list. Our parents live several hours away from the hospital, making it impossible for them to stay at home during this time. The cost of medical care, temporary housing, food, and travel is already overwhelming—and growing by the day—especially with both of our parents retired and unable to work through this crisis.
If you know our dad, chances are he has touched your life in a meaningful way. He may have officiated your wedding, prayed over you during a difficult time, given you one of his unforgettable hugs, or simply made you feel loved in a way only he can. Our family has been blessed with an incredible community, and we are leaning on that blessing now more than ever. We are deeply grateful for every prayer, message, and contribution. Truly—everything helps. Your support brings comfort to our family and brings us closer to seeing our dad recover and return home. Thank you for being part of our extended family, for loving our dad, and for walking with us in hope and faith during this difficult journey. We will continue posting regular updates to share our journey with the community supporting us.
