Nick Labas was the happiest and kindest person anyone could hope to meet. As an audio engineer for Eighth Day Sound Systems, he toured with some of the biggest names in music, including a few tours with his band where he shredded many guitars. Nick’s love for music was matched only by his enthusiasm for motocross and BMX biking—he spent countless hours on the dirt track in his parents’ backyard or at the local skate park. If you had the honor of knowing Nick, you know how much he cherished his friends and family. The straight-edge rockstar will forever hold a special place in all our hearts.

Every memory with Nick was spectacular. Whether we were staying up late playing Guitar Hero, riding our bikes home seven miles from high school after finals, or simply talking about life as we grow, time with Nick was always memorable. He made everyone around him feel free to be themselves, and I know many others shared similar experiences. Nick was truly the greatest friend anyone could hope to have.

This fundraiser is to support the Labas family with the urgent and significant expenses involved in bringing Nick home from Ecuador and covering final arrangements. Our families have been close for 20 years and we are managing this fundraiser on their behalf.
