Support for Niall O’ Donovan

Hi guys,
We are here to raise money for Niall O’Donovan and his family.
Niall is 35, is married to Samantha and has three young sons aged 9, 7 and 5.
Niall is a fantastic dad and husband and is loved by all of us.
Niall has always had issues with his mobility, he could never run and had problems with going up and down stairs. However, in January 2014 he was diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD), this is a progressive, degenerative muscle wasting disorder, it has no treatment and no cure.
Niall had to give up his job as a chef as he couldn’t physically do it anymore.
Niall has over the last number of years deteriorated slowly enough but 2020 has been extremely difficult for the family as the Muscular Dystrophy worsened affecting the muscles of Niall’s heart which has been a source of massive worry to all the family.
He is currently receiving medical treatment to try and slow the damage to his heart as he cannot live life as he usually would as he is putting too much pressure on his heart day to day.
Niall and Samantha’s middle son Noah is currently awaiting completion of an assessment for ASD and has had hearing issues since he was very young which has meant that he had to have Grommets inserted twice and during the last operation had his adenoids removed too. This has meant ongoing Speech and Language therapy along with various others.
On top of this pressure and stress Niall and Samantha’s youngest son, Kai was diagnosed with a form of Cerebral Palsy over the summer so it’s been a rough year for them all. Although Kai is walking he has frequent falls and has issues with steps/stairs and getting in and out of the car.
We are setting up this gofundme in order to help the family raise the money for a suitable adapted car that makes travelling to all necessary appointments and treatments as easy as possible.
We would be eternally grateful for any help given.
