Support for Nelson’s Mother After Tragic Hit-and-Run

Hi, my name is Cody Turner, Nephew of Lori Prater and I am a one of Nelson Praters many cousins. On July 11, 2024, our dear friend and family member Nelson, a bright and promising student, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident. He was in San Francisco for school orientation prior to moving down for the fall semester. Nelson was excited to start this new chapter in his life and had dreams of becoming a journalist.

The sudden loss of Nelson has left our family devastated. Along with the emotional pain, they are now facing unexpected financial burdens, including funeral expenses, legal fees, and other related costs.

We are raising funds to support Nelson’s Widowed mother during this incredibly difficult time. The funds will go towards:

• Funeral and memorial services

• Legal fees related to the investigation

• Support for the family as they navigate this tragic loss

Nelson was known for his kindness, generosity, and passion for working hard as well as writing. He touched the lives of everyone he met, and his legacy will live on through the love and memories he leave behind.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover the immediate expenses and provide some relief to Nelson’s widowed mother as she grieve and heal.
