Let me tell you about why I chose to do this.
My husband of 29 years was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Failure. He was placed on hemo-dialysis. For the last 7 years, he has been doing dialysis for 10 hours a day.
2 years ago he was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. The doctor did remove his Kidney, his only working one.
Last year while he was in CO, he had 4 strokes. He then spent 3 months in the hospital trying to recover.
Once he came home, he had to have a portion of his left foot amputated.
Then I lost my job on January 27th, and just a few weeks later, my husband passed away on March 9th. These back-to-back losses have left me and my family in a very difficult place, both emotionally and financially. I am now the sole provider for my household, and I am also the primary caregiver for my mother, who is bedridden with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
The sudden loss of income, combined with the costs of my husband’s memorial service and our regular bills and rent, has made it nearly impossible to keep up. I am actively looking for work, but in the meantime, we are struggling to make ends meet. Every day is a challenge, but I am doing my best to stay strong for my family and provide the care my mother needs.
