On April 12, 2026 at 2:44 PM, baby Navy Kate made her long-awaited arrival—born at just 22 weeks and weighing only 1 lb 2 oz. Though she is incredibly tiny, her story is already one of strength, love, and answered prayers.

Her parents, James and Shelby, spent over 12 years hoping, praying, and waiting for a biological child. After so many years of longing, they were finally blessed with their sweet Navy Kate—a true miracle in every sense of the word.

Right now, Navy is in the NICU, where she is being cared for around the clock by an incredible medical team. She is expected to remain there at least until her original due date of August 15, 2026, making this a long and challenging journey ahead.

Each day brings new hurdles, but also moments of hope as she continues to fight and show just how strong she is. She currently has 2 brain bleeds, both a Grade 3.

At home, big brother Chris is already so proud and full of love for his baby sister, cheering her on as she grows stronger every day.

As James and Shelby stay by Navy’s side during this critical time, they are facing not only the emotional weight of this journey, but also the unexpected financial strain that comes with a long NICU stay—medical expenses, time away from work, and daily needs adding up quickly.
