Update 2/5/2025:
Words cannot fully capture or describe how grateful we all are of the tremendous love and support that you have all shown to Allie, Tucker, Jada, and our family this past month since we all unexpectedly lost Nate. I cannot believe today marks one full month without him.... In the past few weeks as many of us have returned to work/employment and gotten back into our day-to-day routines, it warms my heart that so many of you continue to keep us in your hearts, prayers, thoughts, and that you continue to send so much support during your own busy lives and days with your loved ones. It means so very much - even the simple text, hug, phone call, card, or check-in.....small moments in time that we all too often take for granted...and that have now taken on such a significant impact and meaning in our own lives. So, in short, I continue to offer my most sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you - and thank you for the time you have allowed us to take while we have grieved, processed, and tried to make sense of such a young and unexpected loss.
This upcoming Saturday, February 8th, the Spicer American Legion is hosting a benefit for Allie, Tucker, and Jada from 11-3pm, with a freewill donation BBQ lunch and a 1pm meat raffle and horse races. We are so grateful to the Spicer and New London Legions for supporting Allie and the kiddos (and our parents) and I am truly humbled by the generosity of this wonderful community we live in. Accepting help is not easy for any of us - and it doesn't come naturally to Allie either. I have been so very proud of her strength this past month while she has mustered up the courage to take care of herself and her children while grieving the loss of her soul mate and her children's father. We all came together only weeks after Nate's death to celebrate the first milestone - Tucker's 5th birthday - and know all too well that the next "first" milestones without Nate and hard days are still very much ahead of us... So, thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you for your love. We love you all so much too and we hope to see you on Saturday (stay away snow!!!)! Love, Kristi

Update 1/9/2025: On behalf of our family, we are simply overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and generosity that we have been shown. It was wonderful to see so many of you tonight at the celebration of Nate's life. As we gather tomorrow to say our final goodbyes to Nate, we are humbled and grateful to this whole community and the many ways that everyone has reached out and offered their thoughts and prayers. We wish to personally thank each and every one of you and will be doing so in the coming days as we remember the life of our dear Nate.
Supporting the Family of Nathan Johnson: A Loving Husband and Father Gone Too Soon
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic and untimely passing of Nathan "Nate" Johnson, a beloved husband to Allie, devoted father to Tucker and Jada, loving son to Dianne, Bruce, and JD and son-in-law to Karen and Steve, grandson to Audrey, charismatic youngest brother to Kristi, Kari, and Jon and brother-in-law to Taylor, the most fun uncle (to Taylor, Jackson, Payten, Cassadee, and Reese), godfather (to Payten, Emerson, Aubrey), godchild of Lyle and Nancy, cousin to many Bohlsen, Johnson, Barber, Stulen, Kunde relatives, trusted colleague, respected sales professional, cherished friend, and coach to many. At just 35 years old, Nate was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind the love of his life - his wife, Allie, and their two young children, Tucker and Jada, with whom he loved more than anything in this world!
Nate was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone who knew him. To his siblings and his nieces and nephews - he was the fun (and sometimes mischievous) "Uncle Natey" and the typical youngest brother who brought the energy and life to the party! :) Whether it was his infectious laugh, his unwavering dedication to his family, his commitment and zeal to the customers he served, or the kindness he extended to anyone in need in our community, Nate made the world a much brighter place. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family in the field of agronomy sales in Paynesville and Belgrade, ensuring that they had a life filled with love, security, adventure, and joy. His devastating loss leaves an unfathomable void that can never be filled.
In the wake of this tragedy, Allie now faces the unimaginable task of navigating life without her partner while providing for their two young children. As we come together this week to honor Nate's memory and legacy, we also want to ensure that his family receives the support they need during this incredibly difficult time.
This GoFundMe campaign has been created to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that Allie and the children now face upon his passing. The funds raised will go toward:
1. Immediate Living Expenses: this will help Allie cover basic needs and daily necessities for the children, which includes housing (mortgage), health insurance and medical needs, utilities, heating and electricity needs, groceries, household items, and personal needs.
2. Childcare and Education: this will help Allie ensure that Tucker and Jada can continue in daycare and preschool at this time and help put a plan in place to support their hopes, dreams, and aspirations as they grow into their childhoods and into their plans for their future, which could include post-secondary education.
3. Funeral and Memorial Costs: this will help provide Nate with a dignified farewell that honors the husband, father, son, brother, cousin, friend, and beautiful human that we all loved and the legacy of the honorable life that he led.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference to Allie and the children. If you are unable to donate at Lake Region Bank or at Magnifi Financial Banks where we have set up accounts for Allie and the children (see below), please consider sharing this campaign with those you love within your own networks, communities, and friend and family circles.
Nate believed in the power of community and always extended a helping hand to those in need. Now, we ask for your help to surround his family with the love and support they so desperately need during this heartbreaking time.
Thank you for keeping Nate, Allie, Tucker, and Jada, and our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your generosity and kindness mean the absolute world to all of us.
With the most heartfelt gratitude,
The family of Nate Johnson
