Support for Natalie and Paul after the loss of baby Jude

With extremely heavy hearts, we come together to support our best friends Natalie Sykes and Paul Hughes as they come to terms with the unimaginable pain of losing their beloved son Jude, who was stillborn, on Tuesday, 2nd April.

Natalie and Paul, along with all their friends and family, had been eagerly anticipating Jude's arrival in July, and Ralphie was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his little brother.

Our hearts shattered seeing their joy quickly turn to unfathomable sorrow as they faced the devastating reality of losing their beloved baby boy.

Natalie also required urgent surgery to save her life due to a significant amount of internal bleeding. A true warrior, she faced this harrowing experience with bravery, even making a will before going into surgery and saying goodbye to Paul, for what was certain to be their last moments together.

Throughout Natalie's pregnancy, we watched with admiration as she and Paul handled every moment with caution and care knowing the challenges they faced, and what makes their loss even more unbearable is the fact that Paul and Natalie only had one embryo from their IVF funding – and that baby was Jude.

Their journey to parenthood has been filled with hope, anticipation, and heartache, and 2024 has been especially cruel with the loss of Natalie's mother Harvene Sykes in January.

Natalie, the strongest woman we know, you’ve gone through too much. Fate has dealt you with heartbreaking blows this year but you’ve been able to navigate life's challenges with a spirit that never fails to uplift those around you. You are our hero. You have a special gift for finding humour in even the darkest of moments, bringing light to your friends in need, so now, in your darkest hour with Paul, let us be here for you.

As we stand by Paul and Natalie during this incredibly difficult time, together, we can help ease their burden and provide them with the support they need to heal and move forward.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to raise funds for two important purposes:

Beginning to save for another cycle of IVF: Knowing that their journey to expand their family is not over, we want to help alleviate the financial burden of another round of IVF treatment.

Funding a trip for Paul and Natalie in memory of Jude: We want to provide them with an opportunity to take some time away to remember and honour Jude in a peaceful setting.
