Natalia and Jeremy recently welcomed their sweet baby boy into the world a bit earlier than planned. He made his debut on May 29th at just 34 weeks gestation. After spending his first few days in the NICU, he was transferred to the Intermediate Care Nursery, where he has continued receiving around-the-clock care. After Natalia was discharged their family was staying in a short-term rental downtown to allow Natalia and Jeremy to continue to spend several hours a day at the hospital to help with his care and feeding.
In the midst of navigating baby’s health issues and his ongoing hospital care, Natalia began experiencing severe abdominal pain. After a late night ER visit, she was admitted to the hospital again. What was first thought to be a C-section-related infection turned into days of uncertainty as a team of doctors were puzzled trying to understand what was going on. Just today, they finally determined it’s appendicitis–a whole different issue–putting another surgery in her near future once she’s able to heal from the birth.
With so much happening at once--hospital stays, medical uncertainty, and caring for their other two young children--Jeremy has not yet been able to return to work. He’s already used up his paternity leave and is now looking unpaid family medical leave.
This GoFundMe is an opportunity for their many loved ones asking how they can help to offer tangible support during this incredibly difficult and uncertain season. Funds raised will help relieve the burden of medical costs, lost income, meals and housing expenses, allowing Natalia and Jeremy to focus on healing and caring for their family.
No amount is too small. Your support--whether financial, emotional, or through sharing this campaign--means the world to them right now.
