Support for Nangabo Vocational Training Institute
Donation protected
Dear friends, this year for my birthday I would appreciate it if you could support a personal family cause. My grandmother, who I am named after, started a school aimed at giving young adults, mostly women, the chance to develop practical experience and vocational skills so that they can help themselves to a better life. She worked with the support of her husband, my grandfather, and other community leaders to establish the school. For 50 years, Nangabo Vocational Training Institute has been a focal point of the community not just for the students, but for the community at large. Following a 2 year shut down during COVID, the students are struggling to fully fund their education as their circumstances have changed drastically, many have become young single mothers. The school endeavors to work with its students despite their circumstances to ensure that they all have the skills to make a future for themselves. To this end, the school has started a few initiatives to provide certain amenities to its students, such as day care services and early childhood healthcare courses. As a results, the school needs to raise a number of funds to provide scholarships as well as to fund these new initiatives. Money raised through this fundraiser will be used to support the development of a school website, which is critical to supporting their fundraising activities.
