Nana is one of the most generous and caring human beings you could ever meet. If you have ever had the pleasure to know my mom, you would know this to be true. She has always taught me to give to those less fortunate. If you didn’t have money, then cook and feed them. If someone needed a place to stay, lend them your bed. She shows up for people. She has always made people feel welcome, no matter who they are, never expecting anything in return. Helping others has been her life’s purpose, and now she and our family are the ones in need of help.
Recently, Nana was diagnosed with very late aggressive B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She needs 6 to 8 sessions of chemoimmunotherapy planned over the next 5 to 6 months. As many of you may know, the cost of cancer treatment is overwhelming. Normally, the Thai universal healthcare would cover most costs, but due to how late we caught the cancer, we need to pay for the most aggressive treatment out of pocket. To make things even harder, Thailand is experiencing one of the worst floods in a decade. Nana’s home, our family's bed and breakfast, is flooding. My family has no income due to this and have invested most of our funds into keeping the bed and breakfast running. She now has the additional burden of boating in her weakened state to get to and from the hospital for her treatments.
Any amount you are able to contribute to our goal will go directly to paying for Nana’s chemotherapy, medications, and hospital stays. I know these are tough financial times for most of us so I do not expect everyone to contribute, but any support, whether financial or simply words of encouragement, means the world to us and will help tremendously. Every little bit adds up and will help her recovery. Thank you for being there for Nana and our family during this incredibly challenging time.
Note: if you would like to donate a large sum contact me directly as gofundme will take a percentage that I would rather go toward the medical bills then to a company. Thank you
