Nakia Jaramillo is always laughing, smiling, and cracking jokes—he’s the best fishing partner and a loving son and father. He always tries his best to lighten the mood, even when things are tough. This past year and a half has been especially hard for him, with struggles both mentally and physically, but his spirit has never faded.

Now, our family is facing one of the hardest moments yet. Nakia is being life flighted to Albuquerque in critical condition. As his parents, my husband and I need to be there for him, but funds are super tight right now. We can’t imagine leaving him there alone, not knowing how long we’ll need to stay by his side. Our hearts are heavy, but we know we have to do everything we can to support him.
