Fundraising for Nikhita: A journey to Calm and Connection.
Donation protected
The Attune to Miracles women’s group, based on the Sunshine Coast, is fundraising to support Nikhita, a beautiful 14-year-old teenager who lives with Level 3 Autism and is non-verbal, therefore has difficulty in expressing how she is feeling. Nikhita struggles to regulate her nervous system and, as a result, lives with ongoing heightened emotions and becomes easily triggered. Seema, Nikhita’s mum, explains that it can take hours to calm her down once her emotions have escalated.
The Attune to Miracles group, in discussion with Seema, understands that she has recently discovered Bio-Acoustic Sound Therapy, which is proving to be effective in assisting Nikhita to regulate her nervous system. It is used daily to help entrain Nikhita’s nervous system into a state of relaxation and balance. An important aspect of the therapy includes vibration, which is delivered through a custom-built chair that, when connected to the sound, vibrates at the same frequency.
The Attune to Miracles group has decided to fundraise to support the family in purchasing the vibration chair, so that Nikhita is able to listen to her sound therapy with vibration on a daily basis in the comfort of her own home—without the need to visit a clinic.
