Nadiya is one of our dedicated staff nurses, a wonderful coworker, and a dear friend. Our unit is like a family, and we have all been deeply affected by the heartbreaking news about her two-year-old son, Daniel. On February 23rd of this year, Daniel’s medical team discovered a large tumor in his brain. Within just 48 hours, he underwent a whirlwind of procedures: an ICP was placed, he was intubated, started on tube feedings, had a PICC line placed, endured many scans, and bravely went into surgery to remove the tumor. This week, it was confirmed that Daniel has a rare but aggressive form of brain cancer.
The road ahead for Daniel and his family is daunting. He will soon begin an intense course of chemotherapy and radiation, as his illness does not give him much time. Nadiya carries the insurance for her family, which is essential for Daniel’s treatment, but she also needs to work to afford that insurance. The emotional and financial strain is overwhelming, and we want to do everything we can to help.
Nadiya has always been the first to offer kindness and support to her patients and coworkers, never asking for help herself. Now, we want to rally around her and give her the chance to spend as much time as possible with Daniel. The funds raised will go directly toward medical bills and supporting the family during this critical time. Any support, prayers, or donations you can offer are deeply appreciated. Together, we can help Nadiya and Daniel face this unimaginable challenge with hope and strength.
