My family is facing an incredibly challenging time as my son prepares for his fifth surgery. The one thing that is the hardest for me is asking for help. I am a single mother who has raised all my child on my own and asking for help has never been easy for since I always find a way to make it work, but I know if i don't ask for help now life is gonna get so much hard on me like it did the last time my son had surgery. I got so behind on all my bills and just picked up 2 other jobs to get myself back caught up. So His very first surgery was in May 2023, when he suffered a severe complication: a bone was outside his body for too long, causing all the cells to die. The initial hope was that the bone would be out for no more than four to six weeks, but things took a turn for the worse. Just three weeks after that first surgery, he developed a large infection at the surgical site, as well as in his neck and shoulder, which required another emergency surgery. He was placed on strong antibiotics for nine to ten weeks, but the infection made it impossible to put the bone back in its place right away.

As a result, all the cells and DNA in his bone died, and when the bone was finally put back, the doctor warned us that the body might not accept it. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened—the body began to break down the bone, leaving a large hole in his head. What started as a small area has now grown significantly, and the doctors had to use mesh to protect the area. This has been a terrifying and exhausting journey for our family, and we are doing everything we can to support our son through his recovery.

During this time, I will need to take time off work to care for my son and stay with him at the hospital. The funds raised will help us pay for bills, food, and gas for travel to and from his doctor’s appointments. Your support will help us cover our living expenses while I am unable to work. I am deeply thankful and grateful for everyone’s support and for anyone who is able to help us during this hardship. Your kindness means the world to us, and we appreciate every bit of help as we navigate this difficult time.
