My sister has spent her life putting her family and others first, always offering support and care to those around her. She has raised three children who have become wonderful young adults. September of 2020 she received the terrifying diagnosis of esophageal cancer. After radiation and chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, she still required radical surgery in January of 2021 ( during Covid) to remove her esophagus and three-quarters of her stomach. She had to endure 3 weeks in the hospital, completely alone! Two years later, we thought she had beaten this horrible disease, But quickly learned it was back—this time, inoperable and terminal.
Now, in her 20th month of infusion chemotherapy, 39 rounds, the treatments have taken a toll on her body and spirit, making it impossible for her to work. Despite her strength and determination, she finds herself struggling quietly, unable to keep up with medical bills, medicine copays and basic living expenses.
As she faces this challenging chapter, my sister is also looking forward to the arrival of her first grandchild. The joy of this new life is bittersweet, as her terminal cancer and financial situation weighs so heavily on her. The constant worry about bills and medical expenses makes it difficult for her to truly enjoy the precious time she has left with her family.
I’m reaching out to the community for help. By supporting this fundraiser, you can help relieve the financial burden my sister faces, allowing her to focus on what matters most—cherishing moments with her loved ones and welcoming her grandchild. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and bring comfort and peace during this difficult time. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.
