Hi everyone, I’m Lexie, and I’m writing this on behalf of my sister-in-law, Lauren.

If you know Lauren, you know she’s a force of nature. For the last eight years, she’s served her community as a Deputy and School Resource Officer -- the kind of person who spends her days keeping our kids safe and her nights being the heart of her family.

Lauren's heart is not only in her work and family, but in so much more. She’s a photographer with an eye for beauty (and a weakness for antique cameras), a fly-fisher who finds peace on the water, and a mother, wife, and friend who is positive to a fault. She is hilarious, witty, and -- to put it simply -- a total badass.

Now, Lauren is facing a new kind of battle: she was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer. By the time it was discovered, it was already quite advanced, and she now faces an intensive treatment journey ahead. This news has been a huge shock to our family, and we are all rallying around her as she prepares for the fight of her life.

The costs associated with her care are significant. While the primary need is to cover medical expenses, there are also many other financial challenges. Both she and her wife may need to take unpaid or partially paid time off work to manage treatments and spend time with her 13-year-old daughter. We want to make sure they can focus on healing and supporting each other, without the added stress of worrying about bills or making ends meet.
