I hate that I am having to write this. My beautiful sister Kate has been diagnosed with a 5cm brain tumour, it is a glioblastoma an aggressive stage 4 cancer. Sadly it does not have a positive prognosis and is one of the worst cancers to have. Kate is being her usual brave strong self and is determined to fight with everything she’s got. We are doing everything we can but I want to raise funds to enable Kate’s husband to remain by her side as much as possible and to help with practical things that will make this journey more comfortable for her. So many people have asked how they can help and this is the most practical way I can think of enabling people to support Kate. If you know us as a family you will know how much my sister has endured, she has lived with chronic debilitating migraines for 18 years, she survived ovarian cancer, she has been through so much and this just feels like such a cruel blow. I’ve chosen to share her wedding photos as this was a day of joy before two months later she began to suffer the initial effects of the tumour, this was put down to mental health issues and not investigated properly hence it being able to grow to the size it is now.

Kate is the kindest, funniest most wonderful person and she’s my best friend as well as my sister. Kate is a brilliant scientist, a doctor of physics and maths and had a wonderfully promising future in formula one car design before the migraines and chronic pain took that away from her.

Any money that is left after Kate’s immediate needs are met will be used to give her some good experiences, some bucket list items to make good memories.
