My parents have always been the kind of people who put everything they have into building a better life for their children. Long hours, tired nights, and countless sacrifices. They’ve always found a way to push through, no matter how difficult things became. They always told me to keep moving forward.
But recently, things became harder than anything we’ve faced before.
On the night of April 14, 2026, around 9:40 PM, a heavy rainstorm came through Illinois. At first, it seemed like something we had seen before—but within minutes, it became something much worse. The rain kept coming down harder and heavier.
Water began to rise in my parents’ bathroom. The tub overflowed, spilling onto the floor and spreading. By 10 PM, the situation had worsened. The water poured into my parents’ bedroom, soaking everything in its way—ruining my mom’s closet and damaging the carpet.
At the time, my dad and I were at work. It was my mom and my brother alone at home, doing everything they could to stop the flooding. They stayed up late into the night, trying to contain something that wouldn’t stop.
By 12:00 PM, the water had spread even further—moving past the bedroom and toward my brother’s room. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. It seeped through the vents, reaching parts of the house we never expected. Water began pouring into the living room ceiling, damaging it along with our couch and even our dining area.
What started as a storm became something that touched nearly every part of our home.
I found out about it from a phone call with my mom. I could hear the stress and overwhelming feeling in her voice. But she had to keep strong, and my dad too. That’s who they are—strong, hardworking. But even the strongest people need help sometimes.
That’s why I’m creating this GoFundMe.
This is my way of giving back to them—of helping repair what was lost and easing the weight they’ve been carrying. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go toward restoring their home and helping them recover from this unexpected hardship.
If you’re able to support or even just share this, it would mean more than words can express.
Thank you for helping me give back to the people who have given me everything.
