UPDATE: He had a procedure that no longer requires hospice at this point. Thank GOD! It does requie oxygen and continued care. We are definitely still trying to get them closer to home, medical expenses covered, and cremation set up.
My dad recently went to the hospital thinking he had pneumonia, but we were devastated to learn he is actually in the end stages of congestive heart failure. He is being sent home on hospice care. My parents reunited in 2010, and since then, my dad has been my mom's caretaker. With them living in Arizona while we are in California, this has made things even more difficult for our family. We are now faced with the urgent need to cover the costs of relocating them from Arizona to California so we can be together during this time, as well as arranging direct cremation for both of my parents.
This past year has already been incredibly hard on us. We just paid for cremation and other expenses after my uncle's passing last year, and now we are struggling to manage these new, unexpected costs. The financial burden is overwhelming, and we are doing everything we can to make sure my parents are cared for and that we can be together as a family.
Family and friends, I would not be reaching out if the help wasn't needed. I realize this time of year is a struggle for everyone, and this situation was very unexpected. Any support you can offer, whether through a donation or by sharing our story, would mean the world to us. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us through this incredibly difficult time.
