My sweet 5 year old niece has recently been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Nothing can ever prepare anyone to hear words like that, especially when it’s about your child, a sweet baby who should be worrying about school, playtime, and dreams, not hospital rooms and treatments.
She will be spending a long and difficult time in the hospital as she begins her fight, and her dad, my brother, has made the choice no parent should ever have to make, to step away from work so he can be by her side during this difficult time. His place is with her—holding her hand, comforting her, and being her strength.
This journey is deeply personal to me. I know firsthand what it’s like to walk this road, to face the fear, the uncertainty, and the long days that come with a leukemia diagnosis. Because I’ve been there, I know just how important love, support, and stability are during this time, and how much it matters to have a parent fully present.

Debido a que he estado allí, sé lo importante que son el amor, el apoyo y la estabilidad durante este tiempo, y lo importante que es tener un padre plenamente presente.
