Family and friends, as you may know, my family has been going through some trying times lately. My wife was diagnosed with cancer late last year, and that has been hard all by itself. Recently, my mother had a fall in which she fractured her spinal vertebrae and damaged nerves to the point where she is unable to move, leaving her bed-bound since her fall in March. This has led to depression and illness after illness, progressing to the point where her organs are failing, and she is refusing to eat. Doctors have given us the option for her to be intubated but do not recommend it because of her age and the quality of life moving forward. She will only suffer further, and it may cause further health problems and pain. It is because of all this that I have now made the difficult choice to start hospice care at home moving forward, keeping her pain-free until the day comes that she may rest. This has been the toughest decision in my life. Those of you who know me know that I have been blessed to have my mom by my side and under the same roof my entire life. Good, bad, and ugly, she has always been there for me, and I for her. So it pains me to let her go, but I don't want her to suffer any longer and wish that God take over her pain and keep her until we can meet again.

My wife is getting the medical treatment that she needs, and with God's grace, she will come out of this adversity healthy and stronger than ever. She is and has been the rock in our family, and I am certain that she will beat this cancer. I will always be by her side as we have been for each other for over 30 years now.

I am truly blessed to have these two wonderful women in my life and thank God for that blessing.

This has all taken a toll on us financially, and so far, we have met those needs. I have unfortunately gotten to a place where things have mounted to the point where medical bills and coming funeral costs will take their toll. I honestly don't know how I will afford everything and still be here for them as I know that I've been in the past. So I am reaching out for help, and I will appreciate any financial relief that you may give.
