My mother was an incredible woman who endured so much pain throughout her life. She faced many complications, and after a recent fall, her sciatic pain became unbearable. Despite her strength and resilience, she eventually became wheelchair-bound and could no longer use her legs as she once did. We tried every possible option, and as a last resort, she underwent a major surgery. The procedure was intense, involving metal implants, bone grafts from her hip, and an expansion cage placed inside her body. While the surgery itself went well, her recovery was extremely difficult. Her body began to slow down—she stopped eating and was in constant pain. The doctors assured us that this was normal for recovery, but after six days, she was rushed to the critical care unit for being unresponsive. She was intubated, went septic, and suffered three heart attacks within an hour. Despite the medical team's best efforts, they were unable to save her. For a brief moment, they considered emergency surgery to find the source of internal bleeding, but it was too late. She was pronounced dead, leaving us heartbroken and in shock. My mother was the best I could have asked for. She always put others before herself and did everything she could for everyone around her. Losing her so suddenly has left us unprepared, both emotionally and financially. We never imagined we would have to say goodbye so soon.
