My mother recently returned from a vacation not feeling well. She was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with worsening cirrhosis of the liver. The doctors told us that with medication and a healthy diet, she could live a long life. She came home for a couple of days, but then her condition worsened and she was hospitalized again for 11 days. During her stay, pneumonia developed in her lungs from the fluids used to help her cirrhosis. On April 17th, she had to be intubated, and although she started to improve a bit, we soon received the call that our family needed to come to the hospital to make a difficult decision. I didn’t want to have to let my mother go, but we made the decision to let her be at peace and join her mother and brother.

My uncle and I were not prepared for this loss, emotionally or financially. We are now facing the unexpected costs of her funeral services and cremation, as she wished to be cremated rather than buried. At this time, we are asking for any help or support to pay for her services and cremation.
