My mom has always been the heart of our family, so seeing her go through two strokes in one week has been incredibly hard. The first stroke was mistaken for a stomach bug and unfortunately missed, which delayed her getting the care she needed. She is now at Upstate, receiving the treatment she needs, and will soon be heading to rehab to start her recovery journey.
This has all happened so quickly, and our family is facing a lot of unexpected challenges. While we haven’t seen the medical bills yet, we know they are coming, and there have already been two ambulance transports from home to the hospital—costs that are generally not covered by insurance. She will also not be able to work during this, she is a preschool teacher, so will not be grtting paid. My mom may also need safety improvements at home. On top of that, my family is missing work to be with her, and the costs of gas and food as we travel back and forth are adding up fast.
We are reaching out for help so we can focus on what matters most: getting my mom better. Thank you in advance for anything you can give—every little bit helps and means the world to us during this difficult time.
The funds will be used to pay for the medical expenses, current and upcoming, gas and food, as well as take the burden off mom rushing back to work so she can fully recover.
