I’m creating this fundraiser for my mom, Patty, who was recently diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer and has just begun treatment. Because of the severity of her diagnosis, she was put on the fast track for radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. This has all happened very quickly, and our family is doing everything we can to support her through this time. One of the hardest parts right now is that she is unable to work. She had been working a remote customer service job, and while we are hoping treatment helps improve her breathing and strength over time, she is not in a position to reliably return to work right now. That loss of income has made it very difficult for her to contribute toward basic living expenses while she focuses on getting through treatment. This is aside from any potential medical costs not covered by Medicare or insurance.
Any funds donated will be given directly to living expenses that she is unable to contribute with currently, as well as any potential medical costs as she is just beginning her journey through this difficult disease. It will also help with the gas we use to get to all of her appointments, some of which are close to an hour away each way.
Anyone who donates is truly a savior to us. Our lives have been turned upside down in a short amount of time, and this is a way to help us stay afloat to manage our daily lives so we can all focus on her fighting this cancer so she can be a part of our lives for as long as possible.
Note: In each photo, my mom is on the far right.
