My mom was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She helped anyone in need and was a religious woman who loved to serve her community. Her amazing cooking brought joy to so many, and people felt her love through her food—especially when she made her famous tamales, which were the best. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of kindness will always be remembered.
Our family is heartbroken by her unexpected passing. Over the past six months, we faced many challenges as we cared for her during her illness. When her family members first noticed she was becoming ill, it was an emotional burden that weighed heavily on all of us. As her condition progressed, she needed to be moved to an assisted living home, and her relatives cared for her on a regular basis to make sure she never felt alone. Multiple days were spent feeding her, helping her move safely from room to room, and transferring her between assisted living facilities when her needs changed. Her close family members lived with the constant uncertainty of not knowing whether she would recover, and they carried the painful reality that her time with her loved ones might be shorter than anyone hoped. Despite our efforts and our hope, we were eventually met with the heartbreaking understanding that she would not have much more time with us. Now, as we try to honor her memory and give her the farewell she deserves, we are struggling to cover the costs of her funeral, mortuary, church, and cemetery arrangements.
We are reaching out to friends, family, and our community for support during this painful and difficult time. Your help, care, and compassion mean the world to us, and we are truly grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you for standing with us as we celebrate my mom’s life and legacy.
