Recently, my mom was hit by a car while walking as a pedestrian on April 2nd. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries in hopes of recovery. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, she sadly succumbed to her injuries on April 18th. This sudden loss has left our family heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with her absence. On top of this heartbreak, my mom had an illness that caused her to lose her healthcare, leaving us without the support we needed during this difficult time.

As a college student living in Austin, TX, the financial burden of arranging her funeral and burial is more than I can manage on my own. Trying to balance school with these unexpected expenses has been overwhelming. I want to give my mom the respectful farewell she deserves, but I can’t do it alone.
