Support for my mom’s end of life care from pancreatic cancer
Donation protected
Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to read this. I am posting this to share the news about my mom’s battle with pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed this past Christmas 2023. Although it was caught early, my mom’s cancer is fasting spreading and the chemotherapy treatments have taken a toll on her. She went through two and a half chemo treatments before she ended in the hospital with an infection effecting her colon, dehydration and weakness all around. My mom has since been unable to care for herself. After 3 weeks she has finally been competent enough to speak for herself again. Since her cancer cells have raised, she now has fluid from her pancreas pushing into her abdomen and lungs. My mom has since decided to stop all chemotherapy treatments. The goal is to get my mom home, make her comfortable and allow her to spend time with her children (my brother & I) and her 8 grand children. It is with great sadness that we have come to this point, but we are determined to make her remaining time as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
As many of you know, medical expenses can be overwhelming, especially when faced with a terminal illness. The cost of care, medications, and additional support services can quickly add up, placing an immense strain on our family's finances. In light of these challenges, we have set up a GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burden and provide the best possible care for my mom. Our goal is to ensure that she receives the specialized attention and comfort she deserves during this difficult time.
My brother, father and myself all have young children and jobs to provide, so any contributions to help us would be greatly appreciated while we help care and spend time with our mom.
My mom has always been a loving person, she is my rock, the person I go to for support. She has helped me in my journey becoming a mother. My family and I are truly heartbroken to be losing our mom so soon in life. There is no amount of time in the world to prepare you to lose a loved one. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story.
UPDATE: The doctors have been draining the fluid from her lungs because it keeps returning. Since she has had a permanent drain put in on 6/15. She is now getting ready to come home today! Now that my mom is coming home. This is where we’ll need the most support. My mom will be on hospice. My brother, father and I are going to be caring for my mom. Thank you all for your support, whether it’s sharing, donations or kind words. Our family appreciates the help during this hard time.
UPDATE July 13th my beautiful mama passed away in her sleep. She was able to be at home with her family when she passed. Thank you to everyone who shared and donated. We are still asking for donations to help us with my moms bills that were left with and to go towards my mom’s celebration of life, which will be held on August 2nd.
