On Wednesday evening (1/7), our mom called our sister Brianna in distress. She was suffering from a severe headache, neck pain, and confusion—symptoms that had been building for weeks. When they arrived at the ER, a series of tests revealed something we never expected: a pea-sized growth on the back of her brain, surrounded by swelling. The doctors quickly started her on steroids to reduce the swelling and referred us to specialists at UW Madison.
This past Tuesday (1/13), our mom underwent brain surgery. The procedure was shorter than expected, which left us both relieved and anxious. The surgeon was able to remove 50-75% of the mass, but because of its location, it wasn’t safe to take it all at once. We’re now waiting for more pathology results to determine the next steps—whether that means more surgery or other treatments. Through it all, our mom has shown incredible strength and resilience. We are so grateful that she was able to come home, but the journey ahead is still uncertain.
Our mom is the kind of person who is always helping others—putting family, friends, and community before herself. Now, she needs support. Her daughters are raising funds to help cover medical bills and household expenses so she can focus fully on rest and healing without added stress.
This experience has shaken our family to the core, but we are trusting in God to guide us through each step ahead. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or keeping our family in your prayers—means more to us than we can express.
If you would like to support our mom but prefer not to donate through GoFundMe, please feel free to reach out directly to Brianna Haga.
Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
