My mother has always been the kind of person who gives to others without ever expecting anything in return. Now, she’s facing one of the toughest challenges of her life—a brain aneurysm that requires surgery at Stanford. She and my father will need to spend a week away from home for her treatment, and the costs of hotel, food, and fuel are adding up quickly.

My parents have always worked hard and never asked for handouts, but this situation is overwhelming for them. I know my mom has touched the lives of so many people with her kindness and generosity.
