After extensive testing and increased decline of my health over the last several years, I was diagnosed with short telomere syndrome, a genetic disorder. It has caused numerous health problems, including depletion of bone marrow, and the worst being pulmonary fibrosis. I am now unable to work while I await a lung transplant. I will be applying for disability and medical assistance, but since I live alone, I'm worried about my mortgage, utilities, and pet care. I will be placed on the transplant list as soon as I am approved for medical assistance. I have a little in savings, but I'm afraid it won't get me through until disability is approved.
