My husband is facing an emergency double hernia surgery Friday, January 30 and we are feeling overwhelmed. As a self-employed contractor, he will be out of work for 2-4 weeks, and without insurance or savings left after a couple months of missed work, we are struggling to cover the basics. The stress of mounting medical bills, prescriptions, and everyday expenses is heavy on our family right now.

He is not just my husband—he is the heart of our home. After reconnecting 6 years ago, he has been the sweetest, most loving partner and devoted father to our two kids, now 21 and 22. His work sacrifices allowed me to be there for my children during their last yet very important school years. My son thrived in sports with his encouragement and followed his dream to join the Army, where he is now part of the 101st Airborne Division 'Screaming Eagles' at Fort Campbell, with his sights set to become a U.S. Army Ranger. My daughter, after facing personal and health challenges, has moved back home but is moving forward again. I can literally hear them laughing upstairs right now—despite all the stress of tomorrow, my husband still finds time to be a better dad than I could have ever wished for.

The funds raised will help us pay for his surgery, prescriptions, household bills, groceries, and also the needs of our 3 dogs and 2 cats while he recovers. We are so grateful for any support you can offer—your kindness will help us get through this difficult time and remind us that we are not alone. Additionally, I pray for a time soon when a health crisis in America doesn't leave families in financial ruin, in the most powerful country in history.
