Never in my life did I think I would have to ask for help, but everything changed when my husband was diagnosed with esophagus cancer. Earlier this year, he was accepted for evaluation for the Lung Transplant program at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. We were filled with hope that he might finally get the chance for new lungs and a better quality of life.
During the course of his testing and evaluation, doctors discovered a tumor in his esophagus. In November, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and we anxiously awaited the results. When we learned it was cancer, our world was turned upside down. The diagnosis not only brought new fears and challenges, but it also made him ineligible for the lung transplant we had been hoping for. Now, instead of preparing for a transplant, he must begin treatment for cancer.
We are reaching out for help to cover the mounting medical bills and the travel expenses required for his ongoing treatment. Any support, whether through donations or sharing our story, would mean the world to us. Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
