Keith was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in early 2025. Our world changed overnight as we faced the reality of a life-threatening illness. In late February 2026, he lost feeling in his legs due to a tumor pressing against his spinal cord, and he had to undergo emergency back surgery to avoid permanent paralysis. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, but he now relies on a walker and requires physical therapy twice a week to regain his strength and mobility.
His treatment journey is far from over. He will soon begin a temporary cancer treatment to help control the spread of the disease while we wait for a specialized therapy called TIL to become available, which could take another 6-8 weeks. Due to Keith's Cystic Fibrosis, additional specialists must also be consulted, plus additional medications to manage that condition too.
The costs of ongoing medical care, copays for therapy and specialist visits, potential out-of-pocket costs for TIL, and the need for accessibility aids and equipment at home have quickly added up. We are doing everything we can to support his recovery and give him the best chance at a full life, but we cannot do it alone.
We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in his journey. Even words of support are appreciated as we navigate these challenges together. Thank you.
