My husband recently started a new job, and just as we were settling into this new chapter, we received the devastating news that he has squamous cell carcinoma cancer. The diagnosis has turned our world upside down. He will need to undergo both radiation and chemotherapy, which means he’ll be out of work for 8 to 12 weeks without any pay. To make sure he gets the best care possible, we’ll need to rent a furnished apartment in Houston for April and May, as his treatments will take place at MD Anderson starting the first week of April. After treatment, there will be an additional 8 to 12 weeks before he can return to work, making this journey even more challenging for us financially.
This sudden change has brought a lot of unexpected expenses. The funds we raise will help cover the cost of lodging, travel to and from Houston, daily meals, and the many copays that come with cancer treatment. Every bit of support will help ease the financial burden and allow us to focus on his recovery and well-being.
We are reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to help. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing by us and offering your support.
