Hello Friends,

I am reaching out to see if I can get some help with a challenging situation. I am scheduled for a right hip replacement on 6/5/26. My left hip was replaced on November 7, 2025. As a result of the Nov. 7th surgery, I lost about two months of work while unable to drive and while healing at home. I anticipate the same downtime with the June surgery, maybe more due to the right leg being the driving leg. I currently work 7 days a week but am slightly diminished in capacity due to some slowness and healing of the left leg and pain in the right one. I am reaching out in advance so I'm not caught short and to be responsible.

I am 76 years old and still need to work to supplement my social security income, which is not enough to cover all of my expenses. I truly enjoy my work as a pet sitter and an UberEATS and DoorDash driver and anticipate being back at it full force after these surgeries are in the past.

In the meantime, I am humbly asking for help to cover June and July's bills. I bought my first house after Katrina destroyed my apartment in New Orleans when I was 58 years old, so half of my social security goes to my mortgage.

I would greatly appreciate any help. I have contributed to several GoFund Me's for friends in the past. I've supported myself since I was 18 years old and have worked for my entire life, so asking for help feels very awkward but since I'll literally be unable to work, I feel that it's a sensible and responsible option.
