On 12/31/2025, my grandparents' home burnt down.

The devastation not only hit my family's life but also the neighborhood as well. My grandparents have lived in that house for over 50 years. The home was built in the 1930s. Their home was a symbol of peace and comfort, and due to a series of unfortunate events, on New Year's Eve, they had to escape a tragic event I would never wish upon anyone.

My grandparents have been a staple of their community for as long as I can remember. If you had a cut or a bruise, my grandmother was there to help bandage you up. If you needed food or a place to rest your head, even for a few hours, my grandmother was there to offer warmth and a comfortable pillow.

Due to this situation, there have been some amazing people that have now become homeless. Surgery was needed and help beyond my capacity was asked.

I never in a million years would’ve thought I’d be needing to ask for help like this. But it is my job and in my heart to try and help as much as I possibly can. I don’t know how much to ask for as I’m not entirely sure what this is all going to cost quite yet, but I suppose this can be a start for now.
