My friend J.W. Key and I graduated high school together in 1958, and we have remained close ever since. J.W. spent his entire adult life working hard to provide for his family, and after many years of dedication, he retired. Now 85 years old, J.W. has faced unimaginable loss in the past year. In April of 2025, his son passed away, and just two weeks later, his daughter also passed. Last week, his beloved wife of 65 years passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

J.W. now lives alone and is struggling to cope with the emotional and financial aftermath of these losses. The funeral expenses for his son and wife remain unpaid, and he is now faced with the additional costs of his wife's funeral and large hospital bills from her care. With his wife's pension gone, J.W.'s financial situation has become even more precarious, and he is finding it difficult to manage these overwhelming expenses on his own.
