My mother and father shared a loving marriage for 55 years, building a life together filled with memories, family, and devotion. My father’s sudden passing has left our family heartbroken, and my mother is now working towards continuing her stay at the King VA Nursing Home.

We recently learned that, despite my father’s belief that everything was arranged, there is still a significant amount needed to cover his funeral expenses. After meeting with the funeral home, we discovered that my mother still needs help to pay for the remaining costs. Because she is on Medicaid, she simply does not have the resources to cover this unexpected expense on her own.
