My family and I are facing an incredibly difficult time after the unexpected loss of my father. His passing has left us in shock and deep grief. He was hospitalized in September and diagnosed with heart failure, and during his stay they had discovered a mass within his abdomen that was later confirmed to be cancerous. After being discharged from his initial hospital visit, he focused on getting better and healthy and even returned to work. He underwent his scheduled oncology surgery this month, and although he seemed okay to have the surgery, his body could not handle the stress of it. After enduring 2 weeks in the hospital trying to recover from various complications, he had passed away.

My father was always caring about others and was a constant source of support for our family. Earlier this year, we had an addition to the family with my daughter, and he loved becoming a grandpa and babysitting our baby Lila. Seeing him with Lila brought so much joy to all of us, and those memories are especially precious now. His kindness and presence touched everyone who knew him, and we are struggling to come to terms with his absence. This loss has been especially hard during the holiday season, as we had to spend it without him.

We want to honor his memory and give him the farewell he deserves. Unfortunately, the costs of his funeral are much higher than we had anticipated. As we navigate this painful time, we are reaching out for help.
