Help My Father Recover from Multiple Heart Attacks
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Orenstein, and I’m reaching out for help during an incredibly difficult time for my family and I. Since January 1st, my dad has been hospitalized after suffering multiple heart attacks and is currently in the hospital fighting for his life. My mom and I have literally spent the entire year so far in the hospital with my dad.
My father is a humble, caring man fighting for his life. He loves spending time with his wife and pets, and constantly calls his family and friends. He loves people and being the comedian in the room.

We are going on the 27th day in the ICU. He has been on ventilator assistance the entire time, he recently had a tracheostomy and peg tube inserted, he has been through an aortic balloon pump supporting circulation, ECMO, and currently has a temporary pacemaker. As my father is fighting for every breath, we continue to pray and hope for a speedy recovery.
My mom and dad live in Illinois with no other family close by. I live out of state, so when my dad had to go to the hospital -my mom was completely alone there, feeling scared, worried, and devastated. I immediately flew to be at her side and my dad's and we have spent every day in the hospital since. I am doing everything I can to support him and my mom, and trying to keep everything together while he is hospitalized.
Unfortunately, I’ve hit a roadblock: I need to be by his and my mom's side , but I will no longer qualify for paid time off at my job. As a result, I’m facing the burden of paying rent, bills, and utilities without any income for the time being. I cannot leave my parents in this incredibly difficult and uncertain time.
I’m asking for help to cover these essential expenses so that I can continue to be here for my parents, and support us through this challenging period. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly to ensuring I can be here as long as is needed. We are desperately hoping for his health to improve and be on the road to recovery, but for the time being it is unpredictable and we have no idea how much longer he will need to be hospitalized.
I truly appreciate any support you can offer for me and my family at this time. Please pray for my Dad and my family.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity. Your help means the world to me and my family.
