This past Saturday, my family’s world was turned upside down when my mom and grandma were both hospitalized after a devastating car accident. The other driver was speeding at 100MPH down Highway K and crashed into them, completely totaling their car. The impact was so severe that the driver was arrested at the scene and is now facing serious charges, possibly even attempted murder. We are still trying to process everything that has happened and figure out how to move forward.

My mom’s injuries are extensive—her right side is almost entirely broken. She has an open hip fracture, a shattered arm, a broken neck, a broken rib, and a small brain bleed. She is scheduled for surgery on her arm tomorrow and will need another surgery on her hip later. My grandma suffered 8 broken ribs and, heartbreakingly, is no longer cognitive or able to hold a conversation. We are waiting for neurology to evaluate her and hoping for the best. I am beyond stressed and overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done for my family right now.

The funds raised here will help cover their mounting medical bills, household expenses while they are both unable to work, and help my grandma get a new car to replace the one she lost.
